Illinois is home to thousands of dentists, so it should come as no surprise that there are tons of dental CE events happening all over the state. One of the largest organizer of dental CE courses is the Chicago Dental Society, which makes available multiple events each month. The annual Midwinter Meeting is one of the largest events in the midwest! Additionally, there are a few dental schools in Illinois, each providing their own dental continuing education courses – the University of Illinois School of Dentistry and Southern Illinois University.
From our perspective, there are two really great times (in particular) to book an Illinois dental CE. The first is anytime between Thanksgiving and the Christmas holiday. The city of Chicago is absolutely magical at this time of year, so finding a dental CE that gives you an excuse to make a little trip out of it is a great idea. Take a course, enjoy a delicious dinner out, do some shopping and just generally enjoy the ambiance that is Chicago during the holidays.
Another time when Chicago, and the state of Illinois, really shines is in the summer and is a very family-friendly destination. So find a dental CE and surprise the family with a getaway to the Windy City. There’s the Field Museum which is home to the largest T-Rex ever discovered. Enjoy the Shedd Aquarium, the lakeshore, the parks and some really interesting American history. Indulge in some famous Chicago deep dish pizza, hot dogs and Portillo’s (you know, the healthy stuff!).
